History
Embracing our
industrial heritage.
Sheaf Bank Business Park began its life as Skelton Works back in 1854 as an agricultural and horticultural tool factory. It burnt down in 1921 in what’s said to be the biggest fire the city has ever known. Following the fire, it was rebuilt and remained a factory making edge tools until the 1970’s when it was acquired by British Silverware. It remained a silverware works until 2002 when it was bought by the team who manage the site today.
Although we’ve updated the space a fair bit since its days as a factory and silverware works, we’ve maintained the site’s heritage wherever possible.
The Team
A dedicated on-site
management team
Josie Bennett

Managing Director
Josie has been the co-owner of Sheaf Bank since 2002 when it was bought from British Silverware. She has directly managed the estate since the beginning of 2018, working with Heather to provide responsive and supportive management of the estate. Previously a senior manager in the NHS and local government Josie has been putting in place new management systems, as well as updating the environment and image of the Business Park.
“The best part of working here is the tenants. We have a wonderful eclectic mix of people and I want to make sure the estate provides them with a great place to work and for their businesses to thrive. My ambition is to continue to develop Sheaf Bank as the primary destination for small businesses in the South side of Sheffield.”
Josie juggles managing Sheaf Bank with riding and looking after her horses and dogs, and so don’t expect to see her at the office too early.
Heather Cagnasso

Finance Manager
Heather, of Logical Figures, is the keeper of the books and in charge of all financial processes! She is an independent Finance Manager that has been working in accounts for over 30 years and been involved with Sheaf Bank since 2010 managing our finances, books, management reports and financial reporting systems. Heather is often a first and main point of contact with various people on the estate such as tenants, contractors, visitors. Her down to earth attitude and helpfulness, in addition to her extensive knowledge of accounts, systems and reporting, has often extended to advising others on the estate where requested.
In addition to her financial background, Heather has also obtained a professional certificate in marketing, and is also involved in the organisation and promotion of various musical entertainment and classic motorbike events, truly the most quirky finance manager to assist such a quirky business park.
“Having been born a stone's throw away from Sheaf Bank Business Park, I feel a local connection to the estate. There is rarely a dull moment and there is a real community spirit and it is a pleasure to work at. I really enjoy the diversity of work and the accounts reporting challenges that are constantly presented to me at the estate. It is always rewarding to see how the Business Park has developed over the past 10 years, knowing how the management reports produced have assisted significant finance decisions to ensure its growth and continued development.”
John Paul Jackson
